The Best View & I’m Not Lyon: Bow Shirt & Pink Ruffle Skirt

There are so many places to view the beautiful rolling hills of San Francisco — the top of Dolores Park, on Coit Tower, hiking by Twin Peaks. But one of my personal favorite views is from the Lyon Steps, where you can take in a gorgeous sweeping panorama of the Bay, Palace of Fine Arts, and Presidio. It’s simply breathtaking! When my mom and grandmother visited last week, I had to take them there to see! And naturally with Valentine’s next week, I was inspired to pull together a subtly festive look. This outfit is so easy to put together and would be perfect for day or nighttime celebratory activities!

Between the bow and the bell sleeves, how adorable is this top?! You can’t go wrong with a white blouse — they come in handy when you feel like you have nothing to wear because they pair with everything. I love having a few as staples in my closet, and this one is currently on sale for under $25! As for how wrinkle prone this blouse was, I would say that it stayed pretty starchy the entire day. I definitely didn’t experience any noticeable creases for the amount of time I wore it, so a huge plus there!!

I bought this skirt off of ThredUp (my favorite online secondhand store — I HIGHLY recommend!!), so it’s an older J.Crew and no longer available. However! I found some worthy similar pieces here, here, and here. The ruffles are so flirty and fun — I mean seriously, I just wanted to shake my hips a little to watch the ruffled fabric sway back and forth. I love how it paired with a simple white blouse and I can’t wait to style it was a satin black bow halter for going out or even a pinstripe oxford to introduce a masculine edge for work.

I touched on these beautiful bow loafers in this post here, and unsurprisingly I’ve worn them so many times since. The small block heel adds the perfect amount of height, and the bows are feminine but not too showy! As for comfort, I’ll be honest: I had to use blister cream for the first times of wear. Though a perfect fit, the back of my heel got rubbed in a couple of uncomfortable places. Now that they’ve been broken in though, I haven’t faced this problem!

Cheers to the weekend! The weather has been so warm in the Bay lately, and it’s feeling like spring! I’m looking forward to playing catch-up for the next few days and working through my to-do list! Do you have any weekend plans? Drop them below! Wishing you all a fantastic weekend!
