Happy Friday! One of the things I love most about blogging has been meeting virtual friends from all over the place. Having a support system and resource is crucial — with anything, especially blogging. So I’d like to introduce you to a close friend of mine: Miss Madison from The Classic Madison, and @theclassicmadison on Instagram!
We had been messaging back-and-forth for a few months, when she suggested we collaborate! So after a lot of coordinating, we finally made it happen — we decided to exchange boxes of items from each of our states. I had seen this at a YouTube challenge before and thought it would make a fun blog post. Essentially, we placed a price cap of $30 and then picked out food and items significant to our state to send to each other. I grabbed a few of my favorite California items (you can see the post she wrote about my box here!) and she sent me some of her favorite items from Tennessee. Read on for an unboxing of the goodies Madison sent me!
Madison wrote, “This is one of favorite foods from TN. Originally, these were created when a coal miner wanted a snack, ‘as big as the moon.'”
I’ve heard of Moon Pies before, but they definitely aren’t a mainstream dessert in California. I’ve definitely never seen a banana flavor before, so that was fun to try. Plus, these are minis — how cute!
From Madison, “A phrase much used now in sock form!”
I love these and plan on getting so much use out of them when the weather gets colder!
Madison says, “Another TN confection — these yummy treats were created in Nashville — my fave city!”
I’ve never heard of Goo Goo Clusters before this, but the packaging could not be cuter! Also, chocolate plus wafers plus sweet gooey carmel — my mouth is watering just thinking about it.
Smokey Mountain Morning Candle
Madison wrote, “I live 1 hour from Great Smokey Mountain National Park, so I drive up there and hike, explore, and look at the view. This candle reminds me of the cool air of the mountain, and it’s locally made!”
I would love to visit the Great Smokey Mountains someday, and I love that I get a little taste of it this way. The candle smells fresh and earthy and is going to be amazing to light in the fall!!
Madison wrote to me: “Tennessee is full of mountain views, lakes, and natural wonders. One of the most passionate sports teams (the TN Vols) is the quintessential example of TN charm: fun-loving and friendly people who love their roots. There is so much I could include in this box, but you’ll just have to see TN for yourself!”
And definitely after all of Madison’s gifts, I want to experience the music scene of Nashville, eat a lot of great food, explore nature’s beauty, and hear “y’all” used in every-day lexicon!
