Summer Fall Transition Pieces Under $100

Earlier this week, I took a trip to the mall and was disappointed at the lack of cute pieces. We’re in a strange seasonal period right now — with August coming up next week, everything is in a little bit of a lull. From spring to summer, the transition feels natural, but as we move from summer to fall, light pastels and whites get traded for darker auburns, burnt oranges, and mossy greens. Autumn is my favorite season, but navigating the transition can be difficult. For today’s post, I found 9 items that can be worn from now until fall!

H&M Ribbed Knit Sweater ($25)

Blush will be everywhere this autumn (I’m pretty excited!). This sweater is a comfy summer night piece, and it will pair well with jeans or leggings as the weather cools down! You could even wear it with a skirt for a girlish touch.

Gap Saddle Bag ($40)

This saddle bag is a classic — the stitching on the outside really adds to the overall quality of the bag. It’s a versatile bag for sure, and one that will easy transition through August all the way into November.

H&M Denim Ruffle Dress ($50)

I love the feminine touch on this dress with the ruffles! For the warm weather of August, it could easily be worn alone. As we get into the cooler fall months, slip a black-and-white striped 3/4 sleeve shirt underneath, and you have a perfect autumnal look!

Target Floral Scarf ($15)

Right now the light blues and floral pattern will look elegant tied into a headband. Come fall, the scarf will seamlessly blend into layered outfits and even give a light pop when tied around the neck.

Madewell Gingham Ruffled Tank ($60)

I feel like gingham has been particularly strong this summer (stronger than past summers), and it doesn’t have to go away completely in fall. This navy tank will look great under a blazer or a jacket, and paired with pants or jeans.

Target Merona Cognac Matilda Slides ($28)

These suede heels are perfect for leftover summer dresses and shorts, but they’ll also pair perfectly with jeans. The cognac color is made for a fall scheme too, so they definitely can be an autumn staple!

J.Crew Floral Eyelet Top ($80)

I lovvvveeeeeee this top — I mean, the intricacy alone is incredible! Have you seen the sleeves?! I predict eyelet will be reigning strong this fall season too. The navy is a perfect nautical shade for summer, and the darker color means it will easily transition into fall.

Abercrombie Tulip Sleeve Shortdress ($58)

This shirtdress comes in many different prints, so you really have your choice. My favorite part is the collar! The chiffon is light and airy for summer, but imagine throwing a chunky sweater over it and having the collar peak out — a wonderful look during August and September.

J.Crew Factory Peach Peasant Top ($50)

I definitely love puffy umbrella sleeves, and they won’t go out of style come fall. This peach color will blend nicely with oranges, reds, and yellows as we transition. Pair it with white shorts or pants for summer, and jeans with riding boots or suede booties for fall!
