A Stroll in Pacific Heights: Fall Floral Top & Velvet Bow

I have this tradition with Alexandra, where every Sunday, we head into San Francisco to attend a worship service and then get brunch after. We both have agreed it’s the most rejuvenating start to our weeks and oh-so fun to try new places in the city (if you have any SF brunch recommendations, please comment below!). We’re working our way through — some highlights have been Café Reveille, Jane on Fillmore, and this week’s b. patisserie. Hopefully by the end, I’ll have a huge list of Bay Area coffee/brunch places — but I digress! This week, our brunch excursion to us to one of the most photogenic spots in the city — Pacific Heights. And while Alex and I strolled through the neighborhood, we couldn’t help but try to imagine what our quaint apartment would look like if we lived in city.

Last week, I did a post about some of my favorite fall patterns. Among those was vintage florals, the main feature of today’s post! This flowy shirt is light and airy, but its dark color palette makes it excellent for early fall. Some highlights of the piece include the ruffled sleeves, the boxy fit, and the dipped back.

Target came out with these shoes a few years back, and they’ve been a staple on the site since. This is actually my second pair — I love them so much! The laces crisscross and tie around the ankles like ballerina slippers. Perfect as a dainty flat, they go with a lot of things and add a feminine accent to jeans, skirts, and dresses alike.

A touch of velvet is a perfect autumn addition! I purchased some velvet ribbon at a local craft store (this hair tie would work too) and love to tie it in a bow as a romantic hairstyle. Here, it works perfectly in a curled side ponytail! I’m also wearing a subtle darker lip, which I love for everyday use.

I loved seeing hints of changing leaves throughout the city — though I can feel the crispness in the air, San Francisco is truly transformed by the brilliant reds and oranges that speckle the trees!
