Signed, Sealed, & Delivered

Happy Valentine’s Day!! Ah, the holiday of all things lovely, sweet, and pink. Cue a content sigh. 🙂 I love Valentine’s Day and will be celebrating with my closest galentines tonight with a cheese board, robust salad, and chocolate strawberries. Peep my Instagram and stories to see more festivities there! And yes, today’s post resembles something very similar I’ll be wearing to commemorate the day! Strolling in Old Oakland this weekend, I couldn’t have imagined a more charming venue. Letter writing is something I take very seriously — ask any of my friends and they can probably rattle off the many times I’ve snuck them a handwritten note or card. I just love the tangibility and romantics of writing! And sipping some coffee, taking in the morning, and enjoying the tremendous architecture of Oakland, my letter writing tendencies felt right at home amidst other mom and pop local shops.

I love a classic button-down and if you sprinkle some little heart prints on there, I can’t resist! I think what’s best about a collared shirt like this is the many different ways it can be worn. I opted to roll the sleeves and tie the bottom, but I could have just as easily pulled the sleeves down or tucked the shirt in or layered something over the shirt! It pairs with pants and skirts and dresses or even as just a cover-up. No matter your location or weather, you can always incorporate a button-down in an outfit.

Though it may look like I paired the top with a skirt, it’s actually a dress (oldie but goodie, honestly a favorite red dress I own!) layered underneath. This just goes to show that outfits can be created with whatever you have on hand — it just takes a bit of imagination. 😉 However, if you do love the combination, this skirt and this skirt are very similar…and this dress if you’re in the market for a new dress!

And then, of course, I had to add a bow! I made this one (it’s so easy, and I have a tutorial here!), but you can also purchase a similar bow here.

Hope you all have the loveliest of Valentine’s Days!! Sending lots of love to you this holiday — as always, from the bottom of my heart, thank you for following along.
