Boardwalk strolls say summer to me, and this weekend, that was exactly what I did. We’ve been getting our fair share of June gloom, but my heart leapt the second the sun popped out and blue sky appeared, matching the color of the water and the color of my skirt! This weekend, a friend told me that I was looking extra happy — I may have to credit it to how good the summer sunshine and this outfit made me feel!
There are simply too many details to pick apart on this skirt!! I might start by saying it’s under $20. I’m completely and utterly smitten. Between the pinstripe print, the layered ruffles, the embroidery, AND the bow, I love what a statement piece this is. Pairing it with a simple white tank was an effortless choice for a relaxed day out, and I can imagine it’ll look great with other blouse and light sweater combinations.
The more I wear these sandals, the more I love them. Did I mention they’re $25? The shoes are so chic and high quality, the perfect summer addition. I last wore them here with this white ruffle shirtdress. They go great with shorts too, and though they don’t have a heel at all, this short girl (I’m 5’3″) loves ’em to death.
For my makeup, I’ve been using a little more highlighter and light bronzer, plus golden and white eye shadows to bring out a summer glow. I wore a nude matte lipstick with blush undertones. For my hair, I took two pieces from around the crown and actually tied them together. I recommend tying the pieces tightly at first because they’ll naturally fall and loosen. Pin with two bobby pins (try to slip the bobby pins into the ‘do so they aren’t as visible), and presto! A style that is equally elegant and easy.
I can’t imagine this look ever going out of style — there are so many aspects of it to fall in love with. I can’t wait to wear the skirt all summer long!
