Picking Pumpkins: Orange Button Sweater

Happy (early) Halloween!! Ask any of my friends, I’ve been pushing for us to make a festive meal and watch fun movies (hello, Halloweentown!) tomorrow night! Growing up, my mom was always adamant about celebrating holidays to the fullest — on Halloween, we’d receive a completely orange box lunch — I mean pumpkin everything (she would always pick up a nice bagel from a nearby bakery the night before), carrots, oranges, cheddar cheese, the list could go on . You could say that as a young adult now, I’ve continued those traditions with the same (maybe even more, honestly!) zeal and fervency. A favorite? Definitely pumpkin patches!

There were two huge things that altered my favorite fall outing when I moved to Northern California: 1) pumpkin patches in Southern California are often in the middle of parking lots and not authentically rustic (Northern California pumpkin patches are almost always on beautiful plots of land and can be accompanied by corn mazes,  tractor or hay rides, and barns), and 2) sweater weather. This gorgeous rust sweater has been a fall favorite — did you notice the buttons on the sleeves?! I love how the cuffs flair subtly. Plus, the fabric is soft — not itchy — and well-fitted (I’m wearing a small for reference!).

You can’t go wrong with jeans — I normally grab this pair. As for shoes, I’m wearing these oxfords, which I’ve been wearing on repeat since the beginning of September — you may remember them from this post or this post. They’ve held up so well and have become the pair I grab when heading out to campus — not to mention are only $25.

Follow along tomorrow on Instagram story to see how I celebrate the holiday, and wishing you all a spooktacular Halloween! Stay safe. 🙂
