Over-the-Knee Boots

Happy December! I’m a big advocate of being adventurous and trying new things, and this month that mantra translated into black suede over-the-knee boots! I’ve been an admirer for such a long time, but I finally found a pair that fit me (and my price tag) perfectly.

This faux suede dress I had is super comfy, and I’ve dressed it a dozen different ways. It pairs so well with the boots, which might I also mention, don’t have a heel. To be honest, I was actually looking for over-the-knee boots with a heel because I always feel I need the extra height (I’m 5″3’…on a good day ;)). My biggest fear was that flat boots would overwhelm my figure, but when I tried this pair on, I was surprised at how well they fit. An added bonus? The boots are really comfy, and I know my feet won’t hurt by the end of the night!

Using a small clutch that just holds the essentials is not my norm — I like to pack my purse thinking I have the tools to solve any emergency I might encounter while out and about. But I’ve grown to appreciate what a delicate touch a clutch can make. And this one is so versatile for the holidays (gold goes with almost anything!). Plus, that bow!!  The strap  too is nice because it can be pulled out or placed inside if I wanted to just hold the bag.

It’s time for red lips, and I’m so happy about it! I don’t know about you, but I feel like red lips can be a really polarizing subject for people — either they love it or they really aren’t a fan. Here’s what I have to say about that: not all reds are created equal, and  you have to find the red that works for you! It’s dependent on your skin tone, and this article details how to find the best red to complements you! And once you find fits, I promise you won’t be going back.

I have fair olive skin, and blue-reds look better on me than orange-reds. This lipstick from Clinique wears really well and is moisturizing, even though it’s matte. It’s durable and doesn’t bleed. By now, I rotate between a few reds, but this one is probably my favorite statement red because it’s definitely the brightest I own.
