NY Snow Day: Fringe Grey Sweater & Pom Hat

Picture yourself walking down a street, heels clicking as you usher slow-moving crowds to pick up the pace, the whole world racing behind you. Imagine on both sides of you, sky scrapers and other forms of architecture you wished you knew the names of because they’re just so gosh darn beautiful rising out of the ground. Imagine passing an exquisite park and then avenues of urban street side. Imagine having to remind yourself there’s no need to get lost in your normal daydreams, because those dreams that normally fill your mind are real and they’re here, playing out in real-time right before your eyes. And you have to pinch  yourself a million times because your mind simply can’t believe it. That’s exactly how I feel in New York….and I never want to leave. Hopefully someday, I won’t have to. The last few days, I’ve just been relishing in the snowy walks.

I fell in love with pom hats when they gained popularity a few winter seasons back, but I found it so difficult to find one that properly fit my head. I ordered this one and presto! A perfect fit. It’s warm and the winter cream matches with everything! Matching it with this fringe grey sweater (that’s on sale currently!) was a fun combination of textures. I love the

This navy bow coat, an early birthday gift from my parents, is easily a new favorite staple piece. J.Crew’s coats are always flattering and well-tailored. I recommend watching both J.Crew’s website and the Factory website for steep discounts during holiday weekends (Martin Luther King Jr. Day is coming up this weekend!) and signing up for their newsletters for flash sales. The lining is on the thicker side, and helloooo, the bow! I’ve linked a few of my favorite coats here, here, and here.
I’ve talked and talked about over-the-knee boots in the past (see this post and this post). I wanted a pair of heeled ones for the city, and these fit my requirements. First: price. They were under $50! Second requirement: heel. Not too high or low and block, meaning extra comfort. Third: the ability to tie the top. I find if I can’t tie them, boots always slip down on my legs. I’ve worn them all over New York City and my feet still feel 100%!

I love when an outfit is equally comfortable and confident. When you feel good, you look good! As Audrey Hepburn said, “Happiest girls are the prettiest girls.”
