This is the first time I’m trying out rotating Latest Obsessions, so I’ll now be recapping two week’s worth of obsessions instead of one, and it feels pretty strange — but definitely good strange! Seeing as though I just got back from a long weekend in the mountains, I haven’t been as plugged in as normal. But! I still have plenty of things that have caught my attention recently:
Of course, I had to do a little post about my camping trip. My family has trekked to National Parks since my childhood — and Sequoia has always been our summer place. We really commit when it comes to camping — I’m mean, sleeping in a tent, showering in rivers, and hiking 10 miles a day. The sights were beautiful, and because California has had a year with high rainfall, the water was gushing everywhere. It was a fun way to spend the Fourth — scroll down to the bottom of this post to see more of my favorite snapshots!
The weekend before I left to go camping, I went to go and see Sunnylife Australia’s 20-foot inflatable flamingo Rosie, who was being displayed at an outdoor mall by my house. It was part of a huge celebration that Sunnylife was co-hosting (Sunnylife has also teamed up with Vineyard Vines for a killer collaboration this summer — favorite items have to be this flamingo drink float, this Vineyard Vines raft, and this flamingo paddle set). I really love the inflatable flamingos, and it was fun to see this ginormous one and her little flamingo family surrounding her.
3. Fruit Stand Fruit!
On the way up to the mountains, we stopped at one of my favorite spots — a little fruit stand by the name of Blossom Trail. They always have the most delicious stone fruit — I’m such a peach girl during the summer, and theirs are the juiciest! The nectarines and plums are scrumptious too. We loaded up to take some home, and I’ve been making peach almond butter toast in the morning and adding slices to my vanilla ice cream. 🙂
Every time my family takes a vacation, my dad creates a playlist we proceed to listen to. It is the only soundtrack we listen to. On repeat. You can imagine that by the end of the vacation, everyone knows the words to every song. This trip, he included this country pop jam, and I have to say, it was the one song that got stuck in my head the most. It’s catchy!! Carrie Underwood’s vocals are excellent in it — it’s a great summer song, and I recommend a listen.
I’m a sucker for stationary, and when I saw this little shop on Instagram a few weeks ago, I fell in love! How beautiful are the nautical water color prints of oysters and coral and lobster! Ugh, I just want to purchase a set to write poems or quotes on and hang everywhere. Also, the sets would make a wonderful summer gift for someone if you are looking for a host or birthday present!
Talk about a serious group of girl bloggers! These four got together to spend the Fourth on Nantucket, and I was vicariously living through the idyllic vacation on social media ever since their ferries landed. Nantucket has been on my mind for months now, and my Nantucket fever only got worse when I saw their picturesque Instagrams and stories featuring lighthouse strolls, basket bike rides, and trips to local straw hat stores (complete with ribbons and bows!).
