This week has been such a big week for me! I started class and experienced my last first day of school (read more about it here!). I am also knee-deep in sorority recruitment right now. We started festivities yesterday and they’ll continue until next Tuesday. I have such little free time at the moment and to say I’m busy is an understatement! I do love meeting new women though, and it’s always so exciting to welcome a batch of new recruits. In the meantime, here’s what I’ve been obsessing over recently.
I reached out to Marissa in December of last year when I stumbled upon this video of her on Instagram. She and her friend were carving pumpkins and dancing, and I just thought she looked like someone I would want to be friends with. I loved her style too and messaged her over Insta DM. We found out we’re literally the same age (her birthday is only a few weeks after mine!) and the same year in college. We Insta DMed back-and-forth for months, and then it turned out she was going to be in California toward the end of summer. It was SO COOL to meet her in-person. We related over so many “just blogger things,” and connected fully. I’m fully convinced we were destined to be friends.
I normally do my nails at home myself and rotate through the same light pastel pinks and blues each time. It’s such a treat to go to a salon and get them done, and a few friends and I decided to go before the first day of class. I was so close to picking a light pinkish nude shade that resembled my other colors, when I spotted this little dusty rose gem amongst the rack and went with it. I loveeeee it!!! It is truly the perfect shade for fall, and I want to pick up a tube ASAP.
I’m a particular pen enthusiast and quite selective about the pens I use. I don’t want them too smeary or bleeding through the paper. I like an even distribution of ink and an overall good flow. LePens seriously get the job done (plus they come in all different colors, did someone say COLOR COORDINATING?!!!!!! :D) They are truly the best. I had to get a new pack for the new year.
For some reason, I’ve been seeing so may ginger jar items on my feed. I really don’t believe I’ve appreciated them until now, but I see the blue and white appeal. I don’t think I could ever part ways with pink and blush, but I really love the way the ginger jar color scheme looks clean and polished. It’s especially beautiful paired with blue hydrangeas. My favorite ginger jar items at the moment are this mat, this shower curtain, and this countertop tray.
I really loved this post from Lucy about making planner stickers. The idea hadn’t even occurred to me until I ran across her post, and the second it did, I ordered some sticker paper immediately and got to work. I’ve been designing them since and still am in the process of doing so, but they’ll be ready soon. I’m so excited to use them just to make things more colorful and personalized — not to mention organized — in my planner.
I don’t know if you’ve heard, but Target is discontinuing its contract with the Mossimo and Merona brands. I was personally a little taken aback when I saw this, seeing as though so many of my favorite items come from those designer lines. This article interestingly lays out the 12 new brands Target is launching, which will be in-house and more specifically niche-based. I think they sound pretty promising, and I’m curious to see how each turns out.
