Presenting to you the second part of my holiday gift guides — this one for the men in your life with ideas all under $30! I had so much fun coming up with all of these because I don’t shop for guys as often, but I think I found something that’ll suit any man on your holiday gifting list. See for yourself!
1. Classic Brown & White Backgammon Set ($30)
One of my favorite games to play is backgammon — it’s intellectually challenging, and I love it when my naturally competitive side comes out. How cute would it be to play a few rounds with a special guy in your life? This set is a perfect travel size and so nice with the faux leather accents — a classic game for a fun night in.
A guy with a money clip has serious panache. But this one from Fossil is especially nifty because it doubles as a card holder, so that your man will be able to clip his money to the front and slip his ID and credit cards in the back. The cognac coloring is really elegant, and the fact that it’s leather is a great touch too. Fossil’s leather tends to wear really nicely, and this money clip is something he’s sure to keep for a long time.
3. American Crew Firm Hold Styling Gel ($15)
I’ve learned that hair gel can be a lot of guys’ best friend. I plucked my younger brother’s brain about what kind he likes, and he recommended American Crew (he’s a fan of the 3-in-1 shampoo/conditioner/body wash too!). Crew’s products have a subtle, pleasant scent and aren’t too sticky so that they don’t weigh hair down. Sometimes the best gift you can give a guy is something that’ll step up their daily routine, and something from Crew’s line is sure to do the trick.
4. A Tie or Pocket Square from The Tie Bar ($15-$25)
The Tie Bar has been featured on countless TV shows and in GQ Magazine for its affordable, stylish ties. The focus for them is that a well-made tie shouldn’t cost a fortune, and I’m all about that. They have a bunch of really smart, unique designs to choose from in all types, sizes, and fabrics. Their products are available at Nordstrom, and I can’t wait to have a special someone just so I can pick him up one of these.
5. Harry’s Men’s Shaving Gift Set ($15)
My mom told me she had seen these new shaving gift sets at Target and after looking into it, I was struck by how cool Harry’s is as a brand. The kit has a refined design and includes a blade cartridge and navy rubberized grip handle, a travel blade cover, a foaming shave gel, a post shave balm, and 4 free extra blades. Harry’s is dedicated to quality and actually does subscription boxes, but this gift set would be such a great introduction to give their razors a try.
I’m always so surprised to see how seriously my little brother and dad take their toiletry bags. But hey, when they’re on the go, they want a nice bag to hold everything in too. This one from Perry Ellis is spacious and tasteful. It’ll fit all the necessities for travel no-problem. The upper section is lined in the case of unpleasant spills or leakages. Plus, the price is spot-on!
My family is pretty obsessed with football, so when I saw this memoir was just released from Heisman Winner Tim Tebow in October, it got me thinking what a great gift it would be for the guy in your life. Tebow relays his experience during the NFL and also gets incredibly personal in describing the highs and lows of life. I’ve always respected him as a player — he just seems like such an authentically good, down-to-earth guy who lives for more than the game. His book is sure to be an inspirational read.
8. Fossil Embossed Luggage Tag ($28)
Luggage tags can really be underestimated as a worthwhile gift, especially for someone who has to do a lot of business travel. It’s a self confidence booster really, the same effect a swipe of lipstick provides. The leather one from Fossil is clean and simple, but would make a nice professional touch to any bag. It comes in 3 colors and will be sure to remind your man that he needs to give you an extra big hug when you’re reunited again.
9. Kitchen Tablet Mount Stand ($29)
I’m thinking about getting my dad this for Christmas (here’s hoping he doesn’t read this post hehe). At my house, the kitchen is my dad’s territory. He’s so particular about cooking, but trust me when I say I’m not complaining — the man is an incredible chef. A few visits ago, I noticed he had started using his iPad in the kitchen to reference recipes, so when I found this stand, it seemed like a no-brainer. It can stick to any shelf, which makes it really easy to view recipes and also keep your electronic out of harm’s reach. Can I get a, bon appétit?!
