Blue on the Docks: Ruffled Chambray Top and Floral Flats

If there is one unexpected color that I’ve been obsessed with this summer, it’s blue. I’m such a blush-pink girl, but from light to royal to dark, all hues of blue have taken my heart this season! Nothing says summer like hanging out by the docks, and the sunshine decided to make an appearance to show off this little number. I only wish I could’ve taken one of these boats out for a spin!

I’ve been searching and searching for a tank or cold-shoulder top with thicker straps, and when I found this one, I knew it fit the bill! I can’t resist ruffles. Plus, it’s chambray — meaning it’s a wonderful transition piece from summer to fall. Picture paired with jeans, riding boots, and a woven sweater! But for a summery look, I styled it with this versatile Vineyard Vines skirt. It’dbe fair to call the skirt a summer essential — it goes with everything! Also, if there’s an excuse to wear Vineyard Vines, I’m sold.

I can’t say enough good things about these adorable flats! I really, truly tried to have will power and not put them in my cart, but I couldn’t get over the detailed art on the shoe. Loafers, mules, slides, and flats like these are popping up everywhere. There are just too many pretty ones to choose from. This pair is comfortable and unique, and the shoe comes in different colors too (including black, red, white, lemon, and turquoise)!

As for this little cognac bag, it also comes in a gorgeous blue. (I wore it in this post here.) It’s perfect for just the essentials — phone, ID card, cash, and a lipstick. The bag is reasonably priced and looks so refined! It really is well-made — I mean, have you seen the cute flap and stitching on the front? As for other details of this look, I decided to try this blue nail polish. Again, I normally opt for pinks and nudes, but I love how the blue turned out!! It’s such a nice change. I also tied a white ribbon up in my hair for a headband. 🙂

Can you say, seas the day? 😉 I walked with a spring in my step in this outfit — it’s relaxed, airy, and yet so dang cute!! I’ll be wearing it again..probably very soon.
