Tucked in a little valley in Sacramento is Apple Hill, a group of over 50 apple orchards. It’s gorgeous, and I’ve been wanting to go there for ages! So Jacqueline and Alexandra (featured in this post!) and I all piled into Alex’s car and roadtripped to go apple picking. Low and behold, we were not disappointed. Teeming golden trees and rows of apples greeted us — a true delight!
I fell in love with this shirt during one of my online shopping perusals weeks ago. The plaid is balanced, not gaudy. All of the earthy colors work well together and more or less scream autumn harvest. And then of course, there’s the bow, which put the piece over the top for me. I meannnn. 😍
The skirt I’m wearing is from last season, and it’s one of the things I’m most happy to have bought. This one is incredibly similar but in suede, and here you can find another navy corduroy skirt that also has pockets! It’s a piece I pair with boots and oxfords weekly, especially because it can be layered to work in colder weather (high socks, sweaters, and the like). Alex is wearing this wool skirt — also suitable for colder weather because of the thick material. I personally can’t get enough of the tiered ruffles!
I love Hunters. I just do. I’ve tried other rainboots, and they simply don’t work as well, but see this post, this post, this post, or this post — I could rave for days about my love of Hunters. Given the dusty, muddy terrain around apple picking, they did the job yet again! Now if only the Bay could get a little more rain so I could crack them out more often…
Visiting Apple Hill was definitely a highlight of my October, and tasting an apple cider donut hot from the oven — literal heaven! Here’s hoping I’ll be able to venture there again…and also, one item knocked off my senior bucket list!
Did you get a chance to go apple picking this year? Comment below! Also, happy November!
